Snow-capped Peak

February 28, 2010

In my dream I was a snow-capped peak
and when I woke up it was there on the horizon.
I can’t fall back to sleep,
so instead I’ll climb.

A Summer and A Fall

February 9, 2010

I have no idea what I’m doing.

I have no idea what she’s thinking.
But I’m getting close.

She doesn’t love me.
She doesn’t want me.
She’ll never be mine.

I think our relation[friend]ship,
Will sail for four more weeks.
Then, it sinks.

We had a summer.
We had a fall.

And that was all.

Love Bird

February 4, 2010

That love bird has been singing
in my head all day,

From that perfect branch with
flowers on its fingers,

She’s been singing a song
the words I can’t remember.

My Religion

February 4, 2010

I am possessed by you.
Everything I do, I do to please you.
All I learn, I learn to learn about you.
You are my religion,
and if you are as Godly as I think you are
that won’t scare you.

That’s When I’ll Know

February 4, 2010

She will look at me
and her irises will grow
thin, blue gardens
watery and clean,
lovely round pools,
deep beautiful things,
thats when I’ll know.

My Rock

February 4, 2010

I have found my rock,
uncovered it of earth
and brought it to my home,

I have cleaned the silt
and placed it there on my desk.

I look often at it
and position it just so,
illuminated and held in high esteem.
A beautiful thing,

strength and simplicity —
sometimes I contemplate throwing it through my window
or dropping it down the street drain,

but I never can.

The beautiful rock that draws me so,
I am its posession,
a meaningless stone.
