You spider.
Crawling and spinning your web,
your twelve
spindly legs
weaving and repeating
in an endless spiral.
Catch us, your prey,
and consume us.
day by day by day.
Eventually your eternal
web will be littered
with all of our vague remains.
Your claws click,
tock tick, tock tick.
Your eyes are black
and indiscriminate,
Catching and eating

seven things
eight things
nine things
ten things

too many things.

The Changing of the Leaves

June 24, 2010

Someday she’ll be mine
and she agrees
its only a matter of time
the changing of the leaves.

A Little More On Time

June 23, 2010

I might break your heart,
Or you might break mine,
Or maybe we’ll lose that spark,
To the immensity of time.

I love you now,
That’s all I have to offer,
Time is electric we can use it to glow,
In this moment, together.

My Existential Weekend

June 22, 2010

Darkness, and day.
and watching it fade away.

Sleep, so much sleep.

Changing my mind
at least
Three or four thousand times.

Asking why, so much asking.

Answering my own
because I rather like my tone.

I am an optimist, an idiot.

Weather, and rain.
and its climbing stain.

An early rise, too early.

No conclusions,
are illusions.

Time is electric.

I have no capacitance.

And too little resistance.

Theres a disconnect
Between dream
And reality.
A chasm, so it may seem

That you must risk,
As though a force
Unseen pushes you,
Ever towards

Into the cataract
You plunge

To stop the current
raging and strong
he built a dam,
laboring long

into the night
he worked alone
shivering, wet
and piling stones.

Why does he work?
creatures inquired,
to stop the river.
so many desire

to be swept away
by its flow
on their rafts
with their lives in tow.

The river was shallow
and in some parts swift
but now that he’s finished
it will be missed.
