The Heights to Which We Could Climb

Your hair fell
onto my chest.
Your warmth spread
all through my bed.
Your naked body
pressed against mine.
We saw mountains
and thought only
of the heights to which
we could climb.

Your breath
slid down my neck.
Your eyes were
tightly shut.
Sensations that fade
not with time.
We saw mountains
and thought only
of the heights to which
we could climb.
